  • Some have joked that NEO stands for Non-Effective Obstacle. However, this joke is dead as of Chapter 2 of Deltarune, whose secret boss, Spamton NEO, not only is the strongest boss in the chapter, but he even turns Nigh-Invulnerable in the Weird Route.

• As mentioned a bit above, Toby Fox being called a troll (based on his Teasing Creator and Trolling Creator tendencies) and a "sh*tty dog" (from one of his own Twitter posts). His ability to think of anything a player would try has also reached memetic levels.
• People have started trying to find many of the secrets that are in this game. However, as people started going through the soundtrack, they realized that most of the soundtrack is mostly the same song, except it's being played at different speeds/tempos. Now, this is more obvious with songs such as "Power of NEO" being a remix of "Battle Against a True Hero" or "Ghost Fight" having connections to Mad Dummy's and Muffet's theme with repeating reprisals. But then if you play a song such as Waterfall's theme, 8 times its regular speed, it becomes strikingly similar to "NGAHHH"/"Spear of Justice." These revelations are quite memetic.
  • This has also led to the joke that the entire soundtrack is comprised of one song remixed over and over.
  • Taken to insane levels with the revelation that the song "But Nobody Came" is Flowey's intro theme slowed down by 1200 percent.
  • Now with a full leitmotif map.
