'Meet the Khumalos'

In Meet the Khumalos, a feud between two women takes a turn for the worst when their kids fall in love with each other. Grace Khumalo and Bongi Sithole were once best friends until a bitter disagreement put an end to their friendship, turning them into sworn arch-enemies. But they set their differences aside once they realize they have a shared goal: Breaking up their children’s relationship. The new Netflix film is a remake of the 2017 comedy, Meet the Kandasamys.

'Sing'

Sing is a musical, star-studded comedy with something for the whole family. The 2016 musical follows Buster Moon, an optimistic koala who runs a theater that has certainly seen better days. In a bid to save the theater, which has become his passion, Buster Moon decides to hold a singing competition which becomes bigger than he expected. Starring Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon, Scarlett Johansson, and more, this jukebox comedy features songs everyone knows and loves.

'One Of Them Days'

Keke Palmer and SZA star as best friends and roommates in the brand new buddy comedy One Of Them Days, which is streaming now on Netfli just weeks after it premiered in theaters. Lucky for us! After Alyssa’s (SZA) boyfriend steals her rent money, she and her best friend Dreux have to do whatever it takes to earn the money back and avoid eviction. But will their friendship survive the crazy lengths they will have to go? The comedy was a critical hit, with Decider’s John Serba praising how it “neatly balances the character stuff of hangout movies with a propulsive plot-driven narrative and genuinely funny bits, which is something many comedies struggle to achieve.”

'The Dad Quest'

Salvador Espinosa’sDad Quest is a fresh, feel-good spin on the father-son dynamic. The movie follows Gallo, an emotionally unavailable TV producer whose late ex-wife Alicia tells him Benito, their son, may not be his. After DNA results prove that Benito is not his son, the two embark on a journey through Mexico using clues from Alicia’s phone to discover the true identity of Benito’s birth father.

'Lucy'

Scarlett Johansson stars in Lucy as the titular character, a young American living in Taiwan who unwillingly becomes a drug mule for her captors. But when the drugs unexpectedly trigger superhuman abilities in her, Lucy goes after the men who attempted to use her. This 2014 thriller stars Morgan Freeman and Ramy star Amr Waked.

'The Hating Game'

Based on the best-selling book TheHating Game, this 2021 romantic comedy is a welcome rivals-to-lovers love story. Lucy (Lucy Hale) hopes to achieve professional success, but standing in her way is her arch enemy Joshua Templeton (Austin Stowell). The two are in a game of cat and mouse that slowly blossoms into something more as they try to keep it workplace-appropriate.

'The Life List'

In The Life List, Alex (Sofia Carson) is sent on the journey of a lifetime after her late mother (Connie Britton) leaves behind a teenage bucket list for her to complete to shake up her otherwise comfortable, if boring, life. Alex is challenged to face every goal her mother set for herself when she was 13 years old – get a tattoo, perform stand-up, reconnect with family, – but she learns a lot more about herself along the way – and finds love, too. The new romcom is directed byDefinitely, Maybe director Adam Brooks and adapted from Lori Nelson Spielman’s book.
