Can I join a random WhatsApp group? ›

While most WhatsApp groups require admin permission for others to join, there are many public groups that you can find as well. But how do you find these public groups? As long as you have the group's link, you can easily join it on WhatsApp.

You'll see any groups that are pending a request for you to join at the bottom of the list of community groups. To cancel your request, tap Cancel request. Note: Groups will be displayed by newest first, then in descending order based on number of members, then any groups with pending requests.

Create your own link

Use https://wa.me/<number> where the <number> is a full phone number in international format. Omit any zeroes, brackets, or dashes when adding the phone number in international format.

Tap on the WhatsApp group to which you want to add unknown contacts. Inside the group, tap on the three-dots menu icon (usually in the top-right corner) and select the "Group info" option from the drop-down menu. Scroll down on the Group Info screen until you find the "Invite via link" option. Tap on it.

Anyone with your call link can join your call, so only share it with people you trust. Blocked users can't use your call link. Links expire if they've been unused for 30 days. Links can be revoked by WhatsApp for privacy and security reasons.
